Project on Correlation

In mathematics, correlation refers to a statistical measure that describes the relationship between two variables. It indicates how much and in what way the variables change together.

The correlation coefficient is often used to quantify this relationship. It's a value between -1 and 1.

A correlation coefficient close to 1 indicates a strong positive correlation, meaning that as one variable increases, the other tends to increase as well.

A correlation coefficient close to -1 indicates a strong negative correlation, meaning that as one variable increases, the other tends to decrease.

A correlation coefficient close to 0 indicates little to no linear relationship between the variables.

Correlation does not imply causation; it simply indicates that there is a relationship between the variables, but it doesn't tell us which variable is causing the change in the other.
